ADVERTISEMENTS
On the top left hand side of your mobile display you can notice the network strength indicator. Just next to it, you can see a blue triangular shaped icon. This icon is your ‘online status’ indicator. This is required if you want to stay connected to internet. If you are not connected to internet presently, you should turn it off. Keeping this switched on all the time will eat up your battery time, resulting in bad stand by time.
Navigate to Menu >> Settings >> Connectivity >> Data Communication >>Preferred Service >> Select CS Only.
Generally you get two options under Preferred Services menu. One is PS (Packet Switch Data) and CS (Circuit Switch Data). Selecting CS Only will increase your network connection establishing time by 5-6 seconds only, but will increase your battery stand by time by 20-40 minutes. Waiting for 5-6 seconds will be fine in comparison to loosing 20-40 minutes battery stand by time, isn’t that?
