Many times while using gadgets like PCs, laptops, smartphones, gaming consoles etc we face some errors that need to be resolved. The first step in doing that is to find out what type of error is there. The error can be found out by the error code. As the name suggests, this is a service by About.com. The Find By Error Message page allows you to browse common error messages that are seen on PCs. The list is enormous so you will find almost all the error details there.



ErrMsg is a desktop tool that allows you to do searches on the encountered errors. All you are required to do is to open this tool and enter the error code and then the tool will give you the basic description of the error. The amazing thing about ErrMsg is the fact that it works for both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows 7, so it can also give results for the latest error codes.



WELT (Windows Error Lookup Tool) is error lookup tool. It also provides the description of the error from the error code. It works quite nicely with common Windows and system errors. You can also save the error message as a note and can use iti later to find more information about the error.



This is a great website with an enormous collection of error codes. You can also search for error codes. It has a very easy to use user interface. There is a list of common error search tags/keywords on the main page that helps users a lot to pinpoint some of the common error messages and categories.



Error Goblin is quite like the above mentioned Error Key but it proves to be more useful because it supports Mac OS errors. This website has both Windows and Mac error code searches. Furthermore, an iPhone app of Error Goblin is also available. Quite good for Mac users.
