QR codes are a comparatively new way of transferring information. It has totally revolutionized the way basic information, such as URLs, contact numbers and Email IDs was imparted. It is a specific pattern whih has all this information stored in it which can be read using QR code readers. Mostly these readers are available for smartphones like iOS, Android etc.

But what to do in case you don’t have a smartphone but still wish to decode a QR code? Well, this is where a really nice freeware desktop tool for Windows called CodeTwo QR Code Desktop Reader can come to help. This tool allows quick scanning of any QR code from your screen.



Using this tool a QR code can be scanned in two way:
  1. Decode the QR code by using the file, a photo on which the code is present.  
  2. 2Or scanning it directly on screen is also possible. Just choose the area of the code and then the tool will automatically scan it from the chosen area. In this method, your mouse cursor would be converted into a cross in order to let you select the area on screen.

After this awesome tool has decoded the DR code, you have the choice of copying the text and saving it.
